Sunday School Program

Sunday School Program: At First United Methodist Church in Clarion, we try to provide Sunday School opportunities for all of our parishioners. The following is a ‘typical’ Sunday morning schedule.  We are currently following the summer schedule however. We invite you to participate and look forward to worshiping with you!

Music Ministry
We are so proud of our children sharing God’s love through the gift of music.  Bells, and Chimers will be taking a break for the summer.  Look for them in the fall.

9:00 – 9:30 am – Children’s Bells & Chimes – Second Floor
Chimes and Bells will practice on in room 212.  No music background is needed.  Chimers include 2nd grade and up, while Bells include 4th grade and up.  Chimes and Bells meet from 9:00 – 9:30 Sunday mornings.  The two groups will begin meeting on opposite Sundays.  Please call Peggy Jo Staab at 226-5689 with any questions.

8:30 – 9:00am – Pathfinders – Choir Room
The Pathfinders music group includes youth in grades 5-12. They have all ready begun practicing Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 9:00am in the choir room.
For more information, contact Sue Ann Boyles at 764-5627.

9:30 – 9:45am – Coffee and Donuts: Gathering Room

9:45 – 10:45am – Sunday School Classes for All Ages

Adult Classes:
Adult Discussion:  Upper Room (Room 221) – Dr. Tom Miller: This class enjoys inspirational book studies.
Trailblazers: Room 102 (First Floor) – Mrs. Gwen Rhoades
Rock of Ages: Room 004 (Basement) – Ms. Mary Brooks
In His Steps: Room 220 – Dr. Josh Diehl and Mrs Amy Diehl: This class discusses current topics with biblical-based understanding.

Youth Class (grades 7 – 12):
This “class” for those youth in grades 7 thru 12 has a broader scope of activities than a traditional Sunday School class.  The youth rotate among activities that include structured classes with a lesson, attendance at the alternative worship service at 9:45 am (third Sunday of each month when The Pathfinders sing), and breakfast at County Seat. Youth meet in the classroom and walk to the County Seat together.  The Christian Education Committee covers the cost of the breakfast so there is no need to bring money.  Should there be a fifth Sunday of a month the group will have an additional lesson.  The Youth Sunday School class meets in the Tower Room.

During our 11:00 Service, we have a Children’s Message weekly followed by Children’s Time activities.

Nursery care provided (First Floor) during Sunday School and our 11:00 am worship under the direction of Cathy Chuculate with teen assistants.
